Inside the November 2024 Seattle immersion – exploring generative AI with Microsoft and AWS

In November, graduate learners from Northeastern University’s MS in Information Systems (MSIS), MS in Data Analytics Engineering (MSDAE), and Online MBA (OMBA) programs came together for an interdisciplinary in-person immersion in Seattle focused on one of today’s most transformative technologies: generative AI.

Over the course of the event, students gained firsthand exposure to how industry leaders are leveraging generative AI across operations, product development, and talent strategy.

Building an interdisciplinary learning community

Beyond panels and site visits, this retreat fostered real collaboration across disciplines. Learners from business, analytics, and tech backgrounds examined generative AI through multiple lenses—bridging ethics, leadership, and innovation.

It was a powerful example of how experiential learning and industry engagement drive deeper understanding and career growth.
