Part 2: Crossing the Chasm

One of the biggest obstacles to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles has been range anxiety, the fear of running out of power before reaching a charging station. Tesla recognized this issue early on and took a bold step to tackle it by developing a network of electric car charging stations, known as Superchargers, which allow Tesla owners to travel long distances without worrying about running out of power. Tesla's commitment to developing charging infrastructure has also inspired other automakers to invest in similar initiatives, further advancing the electric vehicle industry.

Part 3: Tesla and the Hybrid Trap

The hybrid trap is a phenomenon where companies try to combine new and old technologies, resulting in a product that fails to deliver on either front. Tesla, on the other hand, embraced new technology and disrupted the automotive industry by introducing fully electric vehicles with superior performance, design, and sustainability features. Their approach serves as a reminder that embracing new technology and taking calculated risks can lead to great success and reshape entire industries.

Part 4: Discussion

We wrap up our faculty connect session with a final group discussion about Tesla's entrepreneurial journey in the electric automobile industry.
