Northeastern’s Align MS in Computer Science Online is a powerful, flexible graduate program designed for learners from any background. Whether you studied biology, business, or the arts, this program gives you the foundation and real-world experience to transition confidently into tech.
You’ll complete your coursework online and join your peers for three short, in-person residencies—at the beginning, middle, and end of the online bridge portion. These residencies are hosted at Northeastern campuses, and your travel, room, and board are fully covered by tuition. They’re your chance to connect, collaborate, and apply your learning through real-world projects in a campus setting.

The Align MS in Computer Science Online is designed for flexibility, but it also builds in meaningful in-person experiences. As part of the early bridge (foundational) phase, you’ll participate in three short, mandatory residencies that offer hands-on learning, connection with faculty, and time to collaborate with peers. Travel and lodging for these residencies are fully covered by your tuition and are hosted at three of our Northeastern University campuses.
You’ll also have the option to take part in Northeastern’s signature co-op and internship opportunities—paid, real-world experiences that help you apply your skills, build your résumé, and gain confidence as you prepare for a career in tech.

What is "Align"?
"Align" is what Khoury College of Computer Sciences calls its unique, inclusive approach to graduate education. Unlike traditional CS programs that require a technical background, Align is built for learners with degrees in any field. You’ll start by learning core computer science concepts—then move on to advanced coursework and applied experiences. All you need to get started is a bachelor’s degree and the motivation to make a change.
